Article marketing

By Tom Dewell

Of the many ways you can promote your business that can be the most effective, the least costly and the easiest to do is to write an article about what you do.

If you are a business owner, then you know a lot about your business. What you know can be valuable to other people and they will appreciate your sharing of this information. Done correctly for the local business, it may indeed get people looking for your business.

The most effective articles are somewhere between 350 and 500 words long and have one single theme or topic. Before you freak out at the idea of writing 350 words, consider that to this point in this blog post I have already written 121 words. By the time I finish, it will be somewhat over 400 words.

Believe me, if you are an expert at what you do, you can write thousands of words of useful information. And you can break it down into small pieces and end up with several articles that people will want to read.

So you ask, why do this? The first reason is that if you submit these articles to one or several article distributions sites, like www.Ezines.com, the article may end up being seen by hundreds of people who suddenly know about your business. One of them could be the publisher of a blog about your subject who then introduces you to his reader base that could be thousands more. Starting to get the picture?

Now to be honest, if one of those readers is in Boston and your business is in Denver, they probably won’t visit your business. But, if you have products that you sell online, you may have a new customer.

A second really important point is that the more you write and the more that gets published, the more you are seen as an “expert” in your field. People start to listen to you and start to ask your advice. And some of those people will want to buy what you have to sell.

(P.S. I have now written 348 words, and you could do it, too!)

But as a local business owner, you may see the benefit of this, but say, “When in the world do I have time to do this?” Valid question. And the answer is…….outsourcing.

There are 1000 of ghost writers who will gladly write an article, very professionally, about any topic you give them. They will research the subject, perhaps by talking to you, and craft a well written article for you for very little money. They will even publish them for you if you want.

Do a little research on this or contact us for more information on how you can build article marketing into your business plan easily, inexpensively and effectively.
